Now That's What I Call Product Innovation

I’m trying to become unbusy (yea, that’s a word) so that I have more time to share super cool things with you guys but there are just not enough hours in the day. I’m am counting down until the end of summer classes – only 8 more days! Some of these might be old news but I think they are hilarious and totally worth sharing!

I mean, eating can be really difficult, especially while giving a massage or tattooing, so BK is trying to make it easier for us.

               .

Next -- Remember Domino’s Pizza DVD?

Well now they've developed a “DomiCopter” that air delivers your pizza. How cool would it be if your job was to play with remote control helicopters all day?

Also -- Have you seen this ad?

Mom’s around the world might be mad, but personally, I think I’d enjoy a picnic with this guy :) I bought a bottle of Kraft Zesty Italian last week (I buy one every week but that’s besides the point).

This last one wasn't originally going to be a part of this post, but as I was reading through my blog roll this morning, I came across this little treasure on Runner Girl Eats:

Just in time for summer ladies! Hairy Leg Stockings! Direct from the website, “Super sexy, summertime anti-pervert full leg-of-hair stockings, essential for all young girls going out.”

As a marketer, I am totally impressed by the product innovation and branding campaign :)

Happy Hump Day folks! It’s almost FRIDAY!

An Apology, A New Car & A Mini-Vacation

Oops!
It's only been a week and a half but I feel like I have been MIA from the blog for forever! I know it's a lame excuse but I've been crazy busy...like overwhelmed busy. Whose bright idea was it to take three classes this session and work full time and try to have some kind of personal life?

So where did I leave off...
Did I tell you that Rhonda (Justin's car) has been giving us fits lately? She was an old bird - she's been driving around since 1998! A few trips ago, she rolled over 200,000 miles. On Justin's last trip home she decided to take a break somewhere near Cincinnati...in the middle of the highway...while in the fast lane. Luckily, I wasn't there. I would have FREAKED. OUT. Justin got her started and made it home, but we decided we couldn't risk it again....
 MEET TRAVIS...aka Trav the Rav

I headed down to Knoxville last Friday for some whirlwind car shopping. Justin did all of the pre-work and put together a formal document with all of the cars (year, mileage, features, safety) so that I could review them before we visited the car lots (he knows me so well!). We knew we wanted an SUV but we had to find one with good gas mileage (darn that 9 hour drive to Pittsburgh).

We test drove a Ford Escape, a Jeep Compass, a Honda CR-V, and a Toyota RAV4....I might be forgetting one or two...it was a REALLY long day. We both loved the RAV4...so we bought it...TOGETHER! ...and I thought the printer was a big deal :)

Some R & R was definitely needed after car shopping...SO. STRESSFUL...so we headed over to Crossville, TN to hang out with Justin's parents and escape reality for a couple of days. We stayed at the Wyndham Resort at Fairfield glade. It barely cleared 70 either day and we had lots of rain, but we still had an awesome time. We walked the many trails, hung out in the indoor jacuzzi, and ate food...a lot of food! It was a blast and it was so hard to head back to reality on Monday morning. I'm already counting down to the Fourth of July Holiday and more time off work :)

What have you been up to these past two weeks?
What are your vacation plans this summer?

WWNPP - The Second W

HAPPY NATIONAL RUNNING DAY! If you've been hiding under a rock, here's a little bit about National Running Day directly from their website.
“National Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running. Wherever we are and whomever we’re with, we run—fast or slow, alone or with others, all over town or just around the block. It is a coast-to-coast celebration of a sport and activity that’s simple, inexpensive, and fun. It’s the perfect way for longtime runners to reaffirm their love of running and for beginners to kick off a lifetime and life-changing commitment.”

Since it's National Running Day, today is the perfect day to talk about The Second W. Need to catch up on the First W? Read all about it HERE.

The Second W = Watch

A lot of people probably ask the question, do you really need a watch? Do you really need to track your times? I think yes...and here's why. You can measure your current progress and begin to improve your time for the distances you run. If you have a GPS watch, you can track your pace, mile splits, the courses your run, and so much more. I have a Garmin 410 and I am obsessed with it. I was checking the website tonight though and decided that I want to add a Forerunner 10 to my collection! They have purple & pink...how will I decide????

I like knowing my pace during a run and during a race. Whether I'm pushing it to beat a PR or running sloooowly to recover, I always know what pace I'm at. I also like being able to upload all of my data to Garmin Connect and track it over time. Justin and I ran a ridiculously hilly run recently. We took the Garmin so we could check out the elevation when we got back...another good reason to get a GPS watch :)

Do you run with a watch? GPS? Non GPS?
How many miles did you run today?

Can I get an Extra Weekend?

Oh my goodness! I have so much to tell you all about.

First things First. KEVIN CAME TO PITTSBURGH.

I love visitors but this visitor is extra special. We haven’t seen each other since last August! We spent all day Thursday touring Pittsburgh. We went up on Mt. Washington, toured Station Square, and walked downtown by PPG and through Market Square

Kevin tried his very first Primanti Bros sandwich!
Of course we had to stop by Heinz Field (where Kevin succeeded in sneaking into an unlocked door for 2.5 seconds before security threw him out) and PNC Park. Out last stop was Duquesne University so I could show him where I spend a majority of my time these days. We walked NINE MILES. My legs were happy/not very happy during the 6 hour car ride home that night.

On Friday, we went to my cousin Lisa’s wedding. It was so beautiful. Since this was the first time our entire family has been together since last August, mom took about a bazillion family photos. I gotta say…we’re a pretty good looking group!

Before the wedding. You had to be "married in" to be in this picture :)

These two cuties have been married for 29 years!

These two cuties think shoes are completely unnecessary
when dancing the night away.

Hanging out with the beautiful bride!

At the reception. The whole gang!

On Saturday afternoon we went to my cousin Tabatha’s High School graduation party and on Saturday night, we celebrated my mom’s 50th 29th birthday. Her actual birthday is June 10th so it’s not to late to send gifts. You can send them directly to me and I will make sure she gets them. She likes cash, shoes (size 6) and anything pink :)

She actually prefers purple and wears a size 7

We both like cash...and watermelon!

On Sunday, Justin conveniently “forgot” one of his textbooks at my parent’s house so I drove down to Bardstown and had lunch with him and his parents…and returned the book of course. It was a wonderful unplanned visit and I'm glad I got to see them on my whirlwind trip through Southern Indiana. I thought about “forgetting” the book in my car and making him drive to Pittsburgh this morning to get it, but I was a nice girlfriend and gave it back.

Then it was back in the car for the 6 8 hour drive back to Pittsburgh. Why does every road on every route I take have construction? Seriously, do not travel with me. I have bad luck! Now that it’s Monday, I think I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

How was your weekend?

Are you celebrating a birthday/graduation/wedding this month?

Have you ever had a Primanti Bros sandwich?
